Efforts to strengthen South Sudan’s capacity to manage disasters, reduce risks and build resilient communities have been reinforced following the conclusion of a five-day National Disaster Risk Management Instructor Development and Training of Trainers programme in Juba. The training organized by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance Project marks another step towards strengthening institutional capacity and promoting coordinated disaster risk management efforts to protect vulnerable communities and build resilience against future emergencies.
