South Sudan's trusted source for news, information, and entertainment since 2011
South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) is the national public broadcaster of the Republic of South Sudan. Established in 2011 following the country's independence, SSBC is committed to providing accurate, impartial, and comprehensive news coverage to the people of South Sudan and the world.
As the nation's premier broadcasting organization, we operate multiple radio stations, television channels, and digital platforms, reaching millions of listeners and viewers across South Sudan's 10 states and 3 administrative areas.
Our Commitment: SSBC is dedicated to informing, educating, and entertaining our audience while promoting national unity, cultural diversity, and democratic values.
To deliver accurate, balanced, and timely news and information that empowers citizens, promotes good governance, and fosters national development.
To be the most trusted and influential media organization in South Sudan, setting the standard for journalistic excellence and public service broadcasting.
SSBC traces its roots to the pre-independence era when radio broadcasting served as a vital source of information during South Sudan's liberation struggle. Following the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005, the foundation for a national broadcasting service was established.
On July 9, 2011, the day South Sudan gained independence, SSBC officially began operations as the nation's public broadcaster. Since then, we have grown from a single radio station to a multi-platform media organization serving diverse audiences across the country and internationally.
Throughout our history, we have remained committed to our core values of integrity, impartiality, and public service, even in the face of challenges. Today, SSBC continues to evolve and innovate, embracing digital technologies to reach new audiences while maintaining our commitment to traditional broadcasting excellence.
