The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, engages in talks with the Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Field Office Juba, Central and Eastern Equatoria States, Christopher Muchiri Murenga, on humanitarian support, Ebola preparedness and community peacebuilding. UNMISS delegation briefed the Governor on plans to establish a temporary humanitarian base in Yei to support humanitarian actors undertaking preparedness and prevention activities. The delegation also highlighted community awareness efforts involving chiefs, elders, women and youth to help share information at the grassroots level. Governor Jadalla expressed concern about cattle grazing on farmland and its impact on farmers’ livelihoods. He pledged to support reconciliation efforts aimed at strengthening stability and preventing further displacement.
