The Inter-Party Political Dialogue has listened to the presentations from political parties on the proposals submitted by the Political and Governance Technical Working Group. Presenting the SPLM party’s position, Michael Makuei Lueth said the successful conduct of the general elections on December 22, 2026, requires the collective commitment of all political parties. The SPLM-IO representative, Losuba Ludoru Wongo, says the party’s position recognises the need for political consensus, freedom of campaigning, fair access to the media and adequate funding. The South Sudan Opposition Alliance, SSOMA, welcomed the conduct of the elections on December 22, 2026, as part of its position presented to the dialogue.
