SECURITY COMMITTEE SCRUTINISES INTERIOR MINISTRY BUDGET AMID DISCREPANCIES

The Parliamentary standing Specialized Committee on Security and Public Order scrutinises the  2026/2027 budget of the Ministry of Interior at Juba Grand Interior Minister Aleu Ayieny Aleu told the committee that additional funding is needed to support law and order operations and establish the South Sudan Private Security and Regulatory Authority. The ministry requested a supplementary budget of fifteen billion South Sudanese Pounds, which it said had been approved by the Office of the President. However, committee member Veronica Nyantouny said the committee had identified differences between the ministry’s budget documents and its actual expenditure inviting the Ministers of Finance and Interior to clarify the discrepancies.
