The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has intervened to ease tensions between the Abyei and Twic communities over their border dispute. SPLM Secretary-General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit has called for a joint meeting of leaders from both sides on Wednesday at the SPLM National Secretariat. The move comes ahead of national elections set for December 22, 2026.
