300 NAS forces have abandoned rebellion and joined the government as part of echoing Presidential amnesty towards consolidating peace and stability ahead of the upcoming December elections. ย National Security Service received the ย National Salvation Front forces , under the leadership of Brigadier General Yakani Hillary. The NSS says the return of the forces is part of efforts to promote peace, unity, stability and security in the country, calling on other forces still outside South Sudan to return and contribute to the peace process. Brigadier General Yakani Hillary urges citizens to exercise their political rights through the ballot box ahead of the December 2026 general elections. ISB Director of public relations, David John Kumuri calls on armed and political groups to give peace a chance, stressing that violence cannot resolve South Sudanโs challenges.
