President Salva Kiir Mayardit has officially opened the Inter-Party Political Dialogue in Juba, calling on political parties and stakeholders to focus on election-related matters rather than negotiations that could alter the country’s electoral path. The President says the journey towards the December 2026 general elections is guided by four critical roadmaps: the legal framework, administration and logistics, security, and election-related dialogue. He said the legal roadmap has been achieved, while the administrative, logistical and security preparations are progressing, thanking political parties, regional and international partners, including the African Union Peace and Security Council, for supporting South Sudan’s preparations for the December polls.
