More than two years of a leadership vacuum in the petroleum sector has come to an end following the appointment of Daniel Awou Chuang as caretaker Minister of Petroleum. Chuang is expected to lead the ministry’s strategic actions at a crucial time as the country prepares for the December general elections. His long-awaited appointment has received public support, including from ministry staff, amid renewed hope for decisive leadership to improve services and strengthen the management of the petroleum sector. The Ministry’s Undersecretary Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, welcomes the Caretaker Minister, noting that his reappointment by the President reflects the extensive experience he has gained through various leadership roles.
