Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage, Sarah Nyanath Elijah Yong, has engaged in discussions with Head of UNMISS, Anita Kiki Gbeho, on bolstering cooperation in cultural heritage conservation and peacebuilding. Anita congratulated Minister Sarah Nyanath on her recent appointment and on the inscription of the Boma-Badingilo Migratory Landscape on the UNESCO World Heritage List.The two sides discussed support for communities living around natural reserves, as well as the role of culture in promoting peace and social cohesion. Minister Sarah Nyanath reaffirmed the Ministryβs commitment to working with the United Nations to involve local communities in protecting and managing natural reserves while creating sustainable economic opportunities.
