His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit today attended Holy Mass at St. Teresa Cathedral, commonly known as Kator Cathedral, in Juba.The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Nelson Swaka Gore, one of three young priests ordained by the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on Saturday, August 15, during the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Fr. Nelson has been assigned as Assistant Parish Priest in Terekeka.President Kiir congratulated Fr. Nelson and the other newly ordained priests on their calling to serve the Church and the people of South Sudan.In his response, Fr. Nelson expressed appreciation to the President for attending his first Mass as a newly ordained priest. He offered prayers for President Kiir, his leadership, and the peace, unity and well-being of the Republic of South Sudan.The occasion marked a special moment as President Kiir attended the first Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Nelson following his ordination.The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba also ordained Rev. Fr. Joseph Mogga Loku, assigned as Assistant Parish Priest in Lokiliri, and Rev. Fr. Zachariah Lodu Guda, assigned as Assistant Parish Priest in Rokon.
