South Sudan and Kenya have renewed their commitment to promoting regional economic and infrastructural development, following a meeting between President Salva Kiir his Kenyan counterpart, President William Ruto, at the statehouse in Nairobi, focusing on South Sudan’s upcoming elections and regional economic cooperation. The talks come following the launch of the Lamu oil refinery project, which is expected to strengthen regional cooperation and boost the oil sector. The two leaders are also discussing ways to deepen bilateral relations and advance economic cooperation between South Sudan and Kenya.
