In Parliamentary Affairs, the Transitional National Legislative Assembly has passed the National Examinations Council Amendment Bill 2026 from the second to the third reading stage following deliberations and recommendations from the joint specialised committees. In its Ordinary Sitting Number Seven chaired by Speaker Rt. Hon. Joseph Ngere Paciko, the Assembly listened to a report presented by Hon. Chagor Adong Manyang on behalf of the joint committees on General Education, Higher Education, Legislation and Justice. Chagor says the committees reviewed the bill and proposed amendments aimed at strengthening provisions for establishing an independent examinations system in South Sudan.  Following deliberations, the August House approved the bill for third reading with observations and recommendations. During the same sitting, Speaker Rt. Hon. Joseph Ngere Paciko also read Office Order Number Seven, dissolving all standing specialised committees’ chairpersons and their deputies and assigning them caretaker roles with limited powers pending new appointments.
