The United Kingdom has continued to support inclusive political dialogue to ensure a credible conduct of the country’s post-independence elections. This follows a meeting between Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Tut Gatluak and the United Kingdom Ambassador to South Sudan David Ashley, which focused on accelerating peace and stability efforts. Tut reiterated the Government’s unwavering dedication to steering elections as planned. The officials also discussed latest political and security development in Sudan and efforts that South Sudan could play in addressing the political standoff between the Sudanese Government and the Rapid Support Forces.UK Ambassador David Ashley emphasized on the importance of peace and dialogue among the political elites in to foster peace and stability in the country.
