The Caretaker Minister of Interior, Rizik Zakaria Hassan, engages in talks with heads of five institutions under the ministry to assess operational challenges and improve service delivery. The meeting reviewed findings from recent inspections of the National Police Service, National Prisons Service, Civil Defence Service, Bureau of Small Arms Control and Commission for Refugee Affairs. Deputy Minister David Marial Gumke says the institutions face challenges, including shortages of vehicles, uniforms and other logistical equipment. The ministry also pledges to ensure security ahead of South Sudan’s forthcoming general elections.
