The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, General Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has directed authorities to address fire risks, return cattle to their places of origin and improve cleanliness in Juba. The directives followed a weekly State Security Committee meeting chaired by the governor in Juba. The meeting resolved to assess fire risks around Korok Hill and investigate uncertified electrical connections in residential areas and markets to prevent fire outbreaks. The committee also reaffirmed the presidential order requiring cattle brought from other states to return to their places of origin. Juba City Council and Juba County authorities were further directed to intensify city cleaning, reopen roads occupied by roadside vendors and designate alternative locations for weekly markets. On security, the committee ordered increased patrols across Juba and other parts of Central Equatoria State to combat criminal activities, including bag-snatching and gang violence. The committee also called on the public to cooperate with security agencies in maintaining law and order and protecting lives and property.
