HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS MINISTER MEETS ICRC REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR AFRICA

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Albino Akol Atak, has convened with the ICRC Regional Director for Africa, Mamadou Sow, to discuss humanitarian and refugee affairs in South Sudan. The meeting focused on strengthening humanitarian cooperation and exploring ways to enhance assistance and protection for vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement, floods, drought, and other emergencies, exchanging views on the evolving humanitarian situation in the country and the need for continued collaboration between the government and humanitarian partners to address the needs of affected communities. Minister Albino Akol Atak, says the meeting focused on strengthening humanitarian cooperation and improving the delivery of assistance to vulnerable populations across the country. The ICRC Regional Director for Africa, Sow, reaffirmed the ICRC’s commitment to supporting people affected by conflict, displacement, and other humanitarian emergencies in South Sudan.
