The Economic Cluster chaired by the Vice President Dr. James Wani Igga has approved a proposal for the construction of a One-Stop Border Post in Nimule, following a presentation from the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Labanya Margaret, on the proposed project being funded by the European Union, implemented by UNOPS. In a media statement, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Lily Albino Akol says the project aims to transform cross-border trade between South Sudan and Uganda. Lily says the Economic Cluster has called on the Minister of Trade and Industry to table it before the Council of Ministers for final approval.
