The Government of Japan has contributed 2.2 million US dollars, to the World Food Programme to provide life-saving nutrition assistance to nearly 40,000 vulnerable women and children in South Sudan. The support targets communities hardest hit by acute malnutrition and will help sustain critical nutrition services amid growing humanitarian needs. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Undersecretary in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, William Chan Achuil, who commended Japan for its continued support to South Sudan. WFP Country Director Mutinta Chimuka described the contribution as a vital lifeline for vulnerable communities. Japanโs Chargรฉ dโAffaires, Oyama Hiromoto, reaffirmed Japanโs commitment to human security and urged the government to protect humanitarian workers and ensure safe and unhindered access for aid agencies.
