The Parliamentary Network for Population and Development in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly, led by Simon Lomori, in cooperation with the Reproductive Health Association of South Sudan and the International Planned Parenthood Federation, has conducted a one-day reproductive health advocacy programme in Terekeka County in Central Equatoria State. The programme engaged local stakeholders and raised awareness on the link between child spacing, demographic dividend, and socio-economic development.Terekeka County Commissioner Dr. Emmanuel Lolu welcomed the initiative and emphasized the need to address gender-based violence, early marriage, family planning, and support for girls’ education. Acting Director of Terekeka County Hospital Dr. Agustino Awan appealed for greater support to strengthen family planning services following the withdrawal of development partners. Head of delegation Simon Lomori urged participants to implement the workshop recommendations and encouraged communities to embrace agriculture to improve food security and public health.
