The Bank of South Sudan has launched its Communication Strategy to improve public understanding of monetary policy, strengthen media engagement, and promote transparency and accountability. The strategy provides guidelines for communicating the Bank’s mandate, policies, and decisions clearly to the public, the media, and financial sector stakeholders. National Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, emphasized the importance of timely information, clear explanations of economic issues, and efforts to counter misinformation. Bank Governor Dr. Addis Ababa Othow said effective communication goes beyond sharing information, ensuring that the public understands the Bank’s work and has confidence in its commitment to financial stability. First Deputy Governor Tong Akec Deng highlighted the importance of effective communication in helping the public understand the Bank’s role in maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability. Board of Directors member Alangi Stephen Ogut has urged the Bank to align the Communication Strategy with its institutional strategic plan.
