Thousands of people from the Nyang community in Ayod North Sub-County have disengaged themselves from opposition, especially the SPLM-IO and declared their allegiance to the Government. The traditional leaders and members of the Nyang community reportedly made the declaration in support of the government. The Executive Director of Mogok Sub-County, Zechariah Majiek Jal Yuol, complimented the community for distancing itself from the SPLM/A-IO and support the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit for enduring peace and unity.
The community also expressed appreciation to Jonglei State Governor Dr. Riek Gai Kok for what it described as continued efforts to promote unity, peace and reconciliation across the state.
