Abyei Committee, US Ambassador Discuss Efforts to Maintain Security in Abyei

The Deputy Chairperson of the High-Level Committee on Abyei’s Final Status and Minister of East African Community Affairs, Pieng Deng Kuol, has convened talks with the US  Ambassador to South Sudan, Michael J. Adler, on the security situation in Abyei. The meeting focused on recent security developments in the area, with the two officials exchanging views on measures to maintain peace and stability in Abyei. The discussions also covered the broader situation in the disputed area and the need for continued efforts to promote security and stability.
