<p >South Sudan is considering joining a global initiative aimed at strengthening the protection of humanitarian workers, following high-level talks between the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the United Kingdom's Ambassador to South Sudan. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Albino Akol Atak, convened with the UK Ambassador to South Sudan, David Ashley, on deepening humanitarian access and the safety of aid workers operating across the country.<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p >Ambassador Ashley briefed the Minister on the Oslo Declaration on the Protection of Humanitarian Workers, noting that 115 countries have already endorsed the declaration. He encouraged South Sudan to consider joining the initiative ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2026.
