Nat’l Cyber Security Task Force Launched To Combat Online Threats

The National Cyber Security Task Force has  convened to foster efforts aimed at implementing  the Cyber Crime and Computer Misuse Act 2026, towards strengthening the country’s digital security framework. The task force, established following a directive from President Salva Kiir, focuses on tackling cybercrime, protecting national security, and promoting responsible use of digital platforms.

In a media statement, the Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, says the formation comes at a critical time as the country prepares for elections, with a focus on countering online threats, cyberbullying, and misuse of social media which continue to fuel social divisions.

The task force is chaired by the Deputy Director General of the Internal Security Bureau, Lieutenant General Napoleon Adok Gai.
