The Ministerial High-Level Committee on Economic Reform holds an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday and discussed the progress made in implementing the Presidential Order on cancellation of non-statutory tax exemption.

In his statement to the media after the meeting, the Rapporteur of the Committee, Hon. James Mawich says the meeting listened to a report by the Minister of Justice, on the legality of exemptions requested by government institutions, private companies and individuals.

The committee also conducted a consultative meeting with different government institutions and explained the importance of strict implementation of the Presidential Order to boost tax collection and improve the country’s economy.
