President Kiir Reassures AU C-5 Committee Of His Peace Commitment

As South Sudan moves closer to what could become a defining moment in its democratic journey, President Salva Kiir Mayardit has reaffirmed his government's commitment to implementing the Peace Agreement and delivering peaceful, credible elections later this year following  talks with the African Union's C-5 High-Level Committee, which is in Juba to assess the country's progress toward peace and democratic transition. The Head of State also held separate meetings with the National Elections Commission, the Governor of Upper Nile State, and officials from Dar Petroleum Operating Company.
