<p >The Labour authorities, in cooperation with the Workers’ Trade Union Federation and the International Labour Organization (ILO), have launched a three-day programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of youth and women on freedom of association and collective bargaining.<o:p></o:p></p><p > </p><p >Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Labour, Anthony Lino Makana, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with trade unions in policy formulation and the protection of workers’ rights as part of efforts to promote national development. Labour Undersecretary Deng Kenjok says the Ministry is committed to creating an enabling environment that allows all South Sudanese to access employment opportunities and contribute to the country’s economic growth.<o:p></o:p></p><p > </p><p> </p><p >The ILO Representative, Dereje Alemu, noted that the programme seeks to equip young people and women with the knowledge, confidence, and industrial relations skills needed to actively participate in shaping their future.<o:p></o:p></p>
