The Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services has expressed profound sorrow following the sudden death of Sapana Abuyi, Director General for Information and Compliance at the Media Authority, who passed away on Saturday in Juba.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of the ministry, oversight institutions, and the wider ICT and media sectors, Acting Minister David Yau Yau described the late Sapana Abuyi as a dedicated and veteran public servant whose service to the nation was marked by integrity, professionalism, and patriotism.

The ministry highlighted his significant contributions to public administration, governance, and media regulation, noting that his work in strengthening regulatory frameworks, harmonizing media operations, and promoting responsible journalism under the Media Authority Act leaves a lasting legacy. Prior to his role at the Media Authority, the late Abuyi served in various public offices, including as Deputy Governor and State Minister of Commerce, Trade, and Investment in Western Equatoria State.
