CENTRAL EQUATORIA SEEKS LEGAL INTERVENTION OVER REVENUE COLLECTION DISPUTES

Central Equatoria State Government is seeking legal intervention over concerns surrounding revenue collections and taxation in the state following a meeting between the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol and Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony on addressing challenges related to revenue administration in Central Equatoria. The Governor highlights concerns over the role of the National Revenue Authority, particularly in Juba, and raised issues surrounding the collection of Personal Income Tax. Governor Adil says the current tax arrangements are becoming a burden to business operations in the capital and called for solutions to improve revenue administration and support economic activities. In response, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs assured the Governor that the ministry will examine the matter and provide appropriate legal guidance.
