South Sudan and Ethiopia have renewed efforts to boost regional trade, transport, and security to support shared economic development. This follows diplomatic talks between President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, which focused on trade, infrastructure development, transport, and cross-border security, among other issues.
The continued engagement between the two nations reflects a mutual commitment to stability, prosperity, and deeper partnership in the Horn of Africa.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between Juba and Addis Ababa and agreed to fast-track the implementation of existing agreements.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to stronger economic integration and closer people-to-people ties.
