INTER-PARTY STEERING BODY ON POLITICAL DIALOGUE CONVENES OVER FUNDING CONSTRAINTS

As part of broader preparations for the upcoming general elections, the leadership of the High-Level Ad-hoc Committee, the Inter-Party High-Level Steering Body on Political Dialogue, financial institutions, and electoral institutions convened a second constructive meeting to address matters related to funding initiatives for pre-election activities in the country.

The meeting, chaired by the Chairperson of the High-Level Ad-hoc Committee, Kuol Manyang Juuk, highlighted possible steps to be undertaken by the Ministry of Finance and Planning to mobilize resources for election activities, including political party registration, voter registration, and the inter-party dialogue process.

The Secretary of the High-Level Ad-hoc Committee and the Inter-Party High-Level Steering Body, Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro, doubling as the Minister of cabinet Affairs, says the government remains optimistic in mobilising resources for the elections despite the current financial constraints.
