<p >The Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, presided over the opening of a two day conference organised by the female Journalist Network in Partnership with UNMISS on “Communicating with Confidence: Public Speaking and Digital Political Outreach for Women Leaders in South Sudan” in Juba. Minister Ateny emphasizes that the major challenge facing women in Africa is not inability, but the perception society holds about women, noting that lack of confidence is not only a challenge for women, but also affects men, adding that confidence in public speaking comes with preparation and ownership of the subject being discussed.<o:p></o:p></p><p >The Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare in Central Equatoria State, Elizabeth Lugor, stresses that well-articulated words delivered in the right manner can change people’s minds and influence policy and beliefs in society.<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p >The two-day conference organized by the female journalist Network in partnership with UNMISS brought together women leaders, journalists, civil society representatives, and development partners to strengthen women’s confidence and the country.<o:p></o:p></p>
