The Caretaker Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, has warned against inflammatory statements on social media, stressing that elections should not be a cause of conflict but an opportunity for candidates to present their manifestos to the public. The representative of the newly sworn-in officials, Lodovico Oryem, State Adviser for Political, Gender, Child and Social Affairs, has pledged to work with the governor to improve government performance and ensure a secure environment for candidates campaigning ahead of the upcoming elections.
