The National Elections Commission (NEC) has appointed State Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for all ten states and three administrative areas ahead of the December 2026 general elections.

NEC has appointed State Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for all ten states and three administrative areas ahead of the December 2026 general elections. The appointments have been signed by NEC Chairperson Gabriel Bol Deng on 4 November 2026. The appointed officers are: In Central Equatoria State: -Emmanuel Angelo Maame – State Returning Officer.-Jackson Micheal Bambu – Assistant Returning Officer. In Western Equatoria State: -Taban Clement Oliver – State Returning Officer.-Rita Samuel Laki Lojeng – Assistant Returning Officer. In Eastern Equatoria State: -Ebadion Okano Albino – State Returning Officer.-Lemor William Joseph Lengor – Assistant Returning Officer. In Northern Bahr el Ghazal State: -Valentino Achak Deng – State Returning Officer.-Bol Mayuol Mayuol – Assistant Returning Officer. In Western Bahr el Ghazal State: -Wiliam Malueth Ngor Aguer – State Returning Officer.-Louis Peter Juma – Assistant Returning Officer. In Warrap State: -Kir Mangong Madut – State Returning Officer.-Kuany John Dut Bol Thiel – Assistant Returning Officer. In Lakes State: -Dr Benjamin Achiek Machar Angok – State Returning Officer.-Hellena Aping Mannhomjong – Assistant Returning Officer. In Jonglei State: -Nathaniel Dau Dut Ajang – State Returning Officer.-Kun Chuol Kun – Assistant Returning Officer. In Upper Nile State: -Yien Chan Chol – State Returning Officer.-Both Dual Mar – Assistant Returning Officer. In Unity State: -Gatchang Nhial Kuol – State Returning Officer.-Gatwech Mayah Puany – Assistant Returning Officer. For the three administrative areas: Pibor Administrative Area: -Maze Gain Maze – Administrative Area Returning Officer.-Samuel Oman – Assistant Returning Officer. Ruweng Administrative Area: -Chol Isaac Achuil – Administrative Area Returning Officer.-Nathaniel Nyok Monyjok – Assistant Returning Officer. Abyei Administrative Area: -Ring Monydhang Deng – Administrative Area Returning Officer.-Kur Alor Kur – Assistant Returning Officer. The appointments are being made under Sections 18, 15 (2) (P) and 26 (1), (3) and (5) of the National Elections Act, 2012, as amended.  The order takes effect from the date of its signature and forms part of the Commission’s preparations for the December 2026 general elections.
