the United Kingdom is urging the government and security organs to ensure that political parties enjoy the political and civic space needed to conduct rallies and campaigns, in a move aimed at promoting credible elections. UK Ambassador to South Sudan, Rebecca Fabrizi, made the remarks during a courtesy call on the Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs. She stresses that peaceful, credible and transparent elections require political parties to uphold democratic principles and values. The discussions also focused on the prevailing political and security situation in Sudan and the positive role South Sudan could play in promoting peace and stability in the neighbouring country.
