SPLM GEARS UP FOR SPLA DAY & ELECTIONS AS DR. KORDIT ISSUES DIRECTIVE TO PIBOR CHIEF

As the ruling party prepares for two major political events — the 43rd anniversary on May 16 and the general elections in December 2026 — SPLM Secretary General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit has been busy chairing preparatory meetings at the party’s Secretariat in Juba. During those meetings, the SPLM Secretary for Political Affairs and Mobilisation, John Andruga, officially announced the upcoming May 16 anniversary celebrations. Andruga also took the opportunity to reaffirm the party’s full commitment to the December 2026 general elections, making it clear that the SPLM is standing firmly behind the electoral process.

But the Secretariat wasn’t the only focus. Dr. Kordit also sat down separately with the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Gola Boyoi Gola. Chief Gola briefed the SPLM chief on how Pibor is getting ready for the May 16 anniversary. He also reaffirmed the region’s recognition of the SPLM’s role in supporting a credible electoral process come December.
