World Bank Mission Engages MWRI Leadership on Advancing RCRP and National WASH Project on Friday the 14th of November 2025. The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. James Mawich Makuach, today met with the visiting World Bank Mission team to review progress and discuss key implementation priorities for the Regional Climate Resilient Program (RCRP) and the National WASH Project (NWP). The meeting focused on several important areas, including: • Project implementation timelines • Establishment of a National Water Institute • Signing of the Water Bill into law • Ongoing progress, challenges, and required interventions Hon. Makuach underscored the need to consider extending project timelines due to weather variations affecting implementation across South Sudan. He expressed appreciation to the World Bank for its continued support and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to effective coordination and timely delivery. The Undersecretary, Hon. Achier Manyuat John, emphasized the importance of strong collaboration, adequate staffing, and enhanced capacity-building to accelerate progress. He commended the World Bank for its support to vulnerable communities nationwide. The Ministry remains committed to working closely with all development partners to strengthen water resource management and improve service delivery for the people of South Sudan.
