GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO DECEMBER 2026 ELECTIONS

Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holding free, fair and credible elections in December 2026. Dr. Martin also confirmed that the Inter-Party Political Dialogue is expected to begin in Juba next week, with support from regional and international partners, following his meeting with British Ambassador to South Sudan, David Ashley, on preparations for the political dialogue and the December elections. Ambassador Ashley urges the government to ensure the dialogue is inclusive and brings together all political parties and key stakeholders to address the country’s political challenges.
