Eastern Equatoria Raises Looming Drought Impacts

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Albino Akol Atak, has received a comprehensive humanitarian briefing from the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, on the state's worsening humanitarian situation amid the looming impact of drought.

The meeting focused on the growing risks posed by the anticipated drought and the need for coordinated interventions to protect vulnerable communities. Governor Lobong was accompanied by the State Ministers of Agriculture and of Information and Communication. In a statement, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Albino Akol Atak reiterated his ministry's commitment to working closely with humanitarian partners to prioritize response efforts and mitigate the anticipated impacts of the looming drought. Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has called for swift humanitarian interventions to support vulnerable communities facing the growing threat of drought.
