Over 10 Cleft Lip Children Undergo Successful Surgeries At Gudele Hospital

Over TEN children with cleft lip malformations from the country’s three regions have successfully undergone corrective surgeries at Gudele Hospital under an ongoing free medical programme jointly organized by the Ministry of Health, the ASK Foundation, and a team of German doctors, targeting children of all ages from across the country, and  providing life-changing surgical treatment at no cost.

During an inspection visit to the hospital, the Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programs and Chairperson of the ASK Foundation, Adut Salva Kiir, congratulated the beneficiaries and commended the medical team for their outstanding work, reaffirming the Foundation's commitment to expanding its interventions beyond the provision of clean drinking water and humanitarian assistance to improving the overall well-being of vulnerable communities across South Sudan.

The Executive Director of the ASK Foundation, Deng Arop Mawien, says the programme demonstrates the power of partnership in delivering life-changing healthcare services to communities in need. The Chief Executive Officer of Gudele Hospital, Dr. Harriet Pasqule, reaffirmed the hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare services and supporting specialized medical outreach programmes. Representing the German medical team from Uganda, Dr. Oliver Blume has appreciated the South Sudanese hospitality that has facilitated the team's medical operations.
