MoH, ASK Foundation, Launch Free Cleft Surgery, 5 Children Benefitted

The ASK Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, implementing partner Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe, and the medical team at Gudele Hospital, has successfully completed the country’s first free cleft lip and palate surgeries under a specialized surgical outreach initiative.

The program, launched through the Office of the Senior Presidential Envoy, Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit, aims to restore hope and improve the quality of life for children born with cleft conditions across South Sudan. Five children successfully underwent corrective surgeries on the opening day of the initiative, with a total of twenty children expected to benefit from the free medical campaign. Partners involved reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the remaining surgeries are completed successfully, giving more children an opportunity for healthier and a brighter future
