Culture Min Launches National Flag & Anthem Drive Ahead Of Independence Day

The Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage, Sarah Nyanath Elijah Yong, has officially launched the National Flag and National Anthem Campaign, an annual nationwide patriotic initiative encouraging every South Sudanese household, institution, school, place of worship, business establishment, community, and citizen to proudly raise the National Flag and sing the National Anthem every Independence Day.

Speaking at the event, Minister Yong said the National Flag and the National Anthem are the foremost expressions of the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of South Sudan. She noted that they embody the sacrifices of the nation's martyrs and liberation heroes, the sovereign will of the people as expressed through the referendum on self-determination, and the enduring unity, dignity, and aspirations of the nation.
