The African Union urging nationwide Unity as the country moves towards elections. In a media statement after meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, says the peace agreement remains the key framework guiding the country’s transition. Kikwete urges political actors, institutions and citizens to work together to safeguard peace and create conditions for credible and peaceful elections.
