The SPLM Secretary-General Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to national development following a series of high-level briefings with SPLM-powered national ministers at the party’s secretariat.
During the meeting, Minister Aleu Ayieny Aleu briefed the Secretary-General on ongoing efforts to maintain national security, highlighting the party’s focus on ensuring stability throughout the transitional period.
The Minister of Public Service and Human Resources, Ezekiel Lul Gatkuoth, provided updates on salary structures and emphasized the importance of concluding the transitional period smoothly in preparation for upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Atong Kuol Manyang, outlined both achievements and challenges facing her ministry, particularly in the areas of trade facilitation and industrial development.
The Minister of Labor, Anthony Lino Makana, also shared updates on his constituency’s readiness for the elections and detailed planned activities for the upcoming Labor Day celebrations.
A party source noted after the meeting that “the SPLM is back on track with its progressive agenda.”
The briefing forms part of ongoing internal coordination efforts as South Sudan approaches the end of the transitional period and prepares for the commencement of election activities.
