PRESIDENT KIIR URGES WARRAP CITIZENS TO EMBRACE FARMING FOR A POVERTY-FREE SOCIETY

Our top story this Afternoon comes from Freedom Square in Kuajok, Warrap State, where President Salva Kiir has called on citizens to return to farming as a pathway to achieving a poverty- and hunger-free society as the rainy season progresses.Addressing thousands of residents gathered at Freedom Square, the Head of State emphasized the importance of agriculture in improving livelihoods, enhancing food security, and reducing dependence on imports. President Kiir also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holding elections in December at the end of the Transitional Period, describing them as a key step towards lasting peace, stability, and democratic governance in the country.
