The Nation mourns the fallen of a patriotic diplomat Ruben Marial Benjamin, who died on 7th May 2026, after having served the country with integrity and loyalty in most high-level diplomatic assignments in Washington, Cairo and Israel as South Sudanese ambassador in 2014.
Family, relatives, friends and government officials have gathered for his requiem mass at St. cathedral, with tributes pouring in for his dedicated services to the people of South Sudan.
The Primate of episcopal Church of South Sudan, called on South Sudanese to promote peace in recognition of his services.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and international relations, Dr. James Pitia Morgan, describes the death of the late Ruben as a loss to the nation. A family friend, Dr. Dier Tong Ngor, former Minister of Finance and Planning, acknowledges the Significant contributions of the Late to the country’s freedom and independence.
