GOV’T CONFIRMS NO EBOLA CASES & URGES VIGILANCE AS VIRUS CASES SURGE IN DRC

The government has reactivated medical response measures and facilities at South Sudan’s borders to prevent the importation of the Ebola virus, while urging the public to remain vigilant in public places such as churches, markets, schools, and hospitals as well as avoiding handshakes.

Speaking during a news conference, Vice President for the Service Cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, confirmed that no Ebola case has been reported in the country despite outbreaks reported in neighbouring countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
