Government and Evangelical Council of South Sudan have discussed matters of national unity during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Hon. Ateny Wek Ateny. The Clergy leaders expressed their readiness to step up efforts of grassroots peace and reconciliation aimed at uniting the country. In a statement to the media, Hon. Ateny Wek Ateny said the government welcomes the church’s involvement in the peace and development agenda. Speaking after the meeting, the Chairperson of the Evangelical Council of Churches of South Sudan, Bishop Paul Deng Joshua said the church is always available to offer guidance and hope in times of challenges, adding that they are concerned by the hate speech on the social media
