<p >Government and International Monetary Fund [IMF] have discussed draft legislation on Value Added Tax (VAT) and means of improving the performance of sales tax in South Sudan to correspond with the regional standard. This follows Minister Kuol Daniel Ayulo’s meeting with IMF officials headed by Resident Representative, Aresen Kaho on Wednesday. Attended by the Ministry’s First Undersecretary for Finance, Malual Tap Dieu, the meeting aims at strengthening economic diversification, reduce overreliance on oil sector and improve the tax laws that encourages business and boost tax collection. International Monetary Fund team has stressed their commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Finance and Planning and South Sudan Revenue Authority to support in drafting legislations on Valued Added Tax [VAT] and tax laws to improve the country’s economy.<o:p></o:p></p>
